Silver or Black

What say you all? I really like the look of the silver with matching grip. But I am concerned about the silver getting marked up to easy. Does everybody think the silver will mark or rub off from use?

I like to use my cameras but also like to keep them in very nice looking condition, actually everything I own is kept that way.

I love the standard black look. It is classic! The silver is nice, but my lenses won't be silver so what is the point. Unsure of how durable it will be, but I won't be finding out.

Careful, by the time you choose the Silver might be sold out... of course, that then makes the decision easy

Yep, silver is already sold out at several outlets.

The silver looks pretty cheap IMO and the silver grip is horrifying aesthetically but I'm sure it will look better in the flesh.

It would be a tempting buy to just leave in a box in storage but I doubt it would appreciate in value down the track anyway.

But I've rubbed parts of my K5 down to the silver! If I were to use the K3 in conjunction with a grip I would have ordered the silver (only £100 more than black & grip)

Not a fan of silver painted cameras. When I buy, it will be the black.

I consider the difference in price to the very nice leather strap. I would love to have spares of that, but I don't think that's going to happen.

If you use a camera it will look used, Just like any other tool.

The original finish will become a background displaying the amount of travel you have lovingly put it trough, Just like a Fast motorcycle or a Sportscar.

Or old Boxing gloves.

I generally don't hit people about the face with my cameras (I just shoot them!)

Ha ha! Silver is the new Black. Back in the day black bodies were the pro cameras or limited editions. How times change. Looking at the sliver body of my Minolta X-GM and the black body of my X-700 I can say they've worn very well. The scuffing and brassing is a matter of pride - like the scars you share with an old buddy who has been through thick and thin with you.

If you bought a car and were told you can only buy black, would that be normal? The silver comes with the grip and a second battery. After you factor those in, the price is a wash. Depends if you prefer silver or black.
