Buying a lens with or without camera body

Forgive what might be a silly question, but I am newish to buying options.

I intend to buy the new K3 here in Canada and I would like the 18 - 135 lens as well. My question is that if I buy camera and lens as advertised at $1650 CAD I am saving about $150 CAD on buying separate items. However is there a difference in quality of the lens when buying as a body/lens kit as opposed to separate products.

Thanks

Tim

No difference, the lens is the same purchased with or without a body.

No, there is no difference in quality. Although my last kit purchase was a few years ago, my kit lens and the camera came in their own seperate boxes. Rather than a kit, it was more of a bundled deal.

In this case there is no difference. In other cases, possibly. For example, in the past 'kits' included the DA L versions of the DA 18-55 and 55-300 which although optically the same, did not have a hood, or quick shift and had a plastic mount rather than metal.

The DA 18-135 is available in only one version, so no worries with this kit.

well I think most kits do not come in separate boxes. This was the case for my K-5, and my K-01 kits. So it might not be that easy to resell.
