Rondec,

Love the peek a boo! I just had to pull up the exif to see how far you were... glad to see you had the 55-300 out to 300!

Your whole series from the trip have been great, makes me want to take another trip back there.

Eric

Thanks.

Yes, we were hiking along the Elijah Oliver trail and there was a group of people standing looking over into the under brush and there was a Black Bear cub and its mother. We were probably 100 yards away. The bears were just doing their thing and didn't seem to really notice the people being close by, but I certainly wouldn't have gone any closer. It was kind of dark in the under brush and so my iso got a little high -- made it hard to get detail out of the bear...

Taken with a new (to me) DA 50-200 WR on Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh. This lens is certainly not the sharpest but from my use of it so far, it's small and light and has good colour and contrast.

Great stuff @Rondec, @Wolfhask, and others!

I just got back from 5 days in New York's Catskills with this bike:

Some would say that you're not truly living until you take a chance
by John Flores, on Flickr

Since the bike has no luggage, I carried everything on my back (clothing, cameras, iPad, rain gear, etc...) which made for some interesting pairing down of camera gear. I ended up taking the K-3 with FA31 (I wanted to take the FA43 because it was smaller but wanted the wider FOV) along with the Q7 and 02 and 06 zoom and 03 Fish Eye. That's it. I enjoyed shooting the K-3 with just a normal focal length. On a future trip I may restrict myself to just normal FLs.

I'm back from my morning drive... I hoped to see more, but I did get some images.
DA*50-250. ƒ4, 200 ISO

Snapping turtle.

Canada Geese and goslings

Northern Raven

The black flies were so bad, I actually got harried out of a couple of images....once you've swallowed 2 or 3 flies, you tend to head to the car.
