I was so fortunate to look out the window and see this beautiful little Lazuli Bunting! I had to get the photos thru the window, as I didn't want to frighten it away by going outside. K3, Sigma 300 F4, Tamron 1.4TC
Nice shots Carol. Beautiful bird.

Thank you for the kind words After hearing about the fatal cougar attack, I don't know if I want to do much forest walking. Its a rare case, but still...

So true. We just need pepper spray or bear spray when going into the Forrest.

A couple shots from today. I don't normally like heavily cropped shots but I liked the rain in the first one.

That's an awesome shot! I love the blue ribbon used in the nest! Maybe they are all boys?

A couple of insects - including my first damselfly of the season - with the D-FA 100mm WR, HD 1.4x AW, and a Raynox DCR-250. The first shot (fly) is reposted from Show Me Your Insects, and the second (damselfly) is here first. Both from the Montreal Botanical Garden.

Unfortunately, I woke up to an empty nest! All gone, no trace of them. Maybe a lucky hawk, as most animals would have left debris of some kind.

That is excellent, Steve. Well exposed, sharp and great composition.

USAF C-12F Huron on short final to JAN / Rain Droplets on a Dianthus

Shot with the Pentax HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm f/4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE at 300mm a fantastically responsive lens. I was able to track this aircraft in the flight pattern from when it turned base leg then on to final and directly over my shooting position, most shots were keepers using AF-C which has not always been the case with some of my lens. The PLM drive makes this lens the fastest focusing Pentax produced lens to date, I wish it were faster but at f6.3 its stll great.

I saw it too but had no idea what it was. You learn something new every day and since I learned it early in the day, I can now be stupid for the rest of it.

Nice shot Steve.
