Looks like a scene from the 19 century. Well done.

Can northerners still come down and use the fence rails for their campfires?
Around here that could be a fatal choice of fire wood. I got tired of filling out government forms to keep the family's collection of firearms and sold them to a collector who wanted the Lee Enfield Pattern 1914 we had with the original butt plate. I haven't fired a shot since I left Her Majesty's armed forces in 1967. 2x .303, 2x .22, 1x16 ga, 1x12 ga.

I think Gaweidert was making a reference to the civil war when the union forces commonly used fence boards as fire material.

One of my flake images has been used (with my permission) by the music conservatory of León (Spain) to publicize their upcoming Christmas benefit concert!

And here is the latest flake shot. The tuque used gave a bit of a green cast, so I converted to B&W. As is most common for my flake shots, this is with an M 135mm F/3.5 coupled with a reversed Sigma 24-70mm zoom, and is a stack of 15 frames.

Thanks!

This thread is slowing down - recent deals on the KP might have something to do with that? I'm kind of overdue for a body upgrade myself, but still hoping for an LI-90 powered beast soon(ish)...

Here are a couple of leftover shots from last spring, only just now processed and posted. What can I say, not much new shooting happening right now... (First is reposted from Show Me Your Insects.)

Thank you both - it means a lot! It's getting harder to find the motivation to shoot, as I get the feeling I've plateau'ed in skill, and as finding species I've never seen gets rarer and rarer. Some species I saw a few years back I've not managed to see again, and I wonder if it was beginner's luck to see them at all, or something more foreboding. And there are so many people doing much more amazing work... But anyway, thanks again for your kind words!

I dunno, I think you are too hard on yourself. You managed to do some amazing work, and deserve all the credit you get. You could also try making the common and mundane into interesting art by finding different ways to photograph them, if you need to find a new way to challenge yourself. How about BMIF's? (Bug Macro's In Flight) I've tried my hand at this, and it is like golf, the hole in one is elusive and will keep you going.
Hang in there!
