Thank you Ray! Color is what I'm working on... Still have a ways to go but I finally went from "I need to sell this thing" to "yeah I think I can make it work..."
My standard of course is the wonderful CCD sensors we know and love, so the bar is raised very high in terms of color output.

I've gone back and re-processed a couple of pictures from our trip to Brazil last summer (well, it was winter here in the US...)

I like the colors much better this time around... decided to stick with the K-3

Another from the Orlando trip.

I'm still having a lot of difficulty getting the colors right in post processing and I'm not sure I'm achieving it. The picture above (post 11884) is a good example. The sky looks wrong - it seemed to look right on my large monitor but now looking at it in the downsized forum post, it still looks wrong.

I get it so much easier with the K-S1, K-50, K200D and K10D, it seems like the colors just look more natural right out of the box (though no digital camera gets perfect colors...)

I see it in other's pictures as well... in the post from Norm just above mine, the fall colors seem nice, but I don't think that sky is the anywhere near the same shade of blue it was in reality. Norm, feel free to chime in...

You should judge by your calibrated monitor, not by the forum version.

Nice day for a drive - won't be many left in 2021.
I have forced myself to shoot the past several months with the K-1 I acquired last spring. Okay 'forced' is a strong word. I really like the K-1 and wanted to train myself for it s use so I don't flounder. Today, I picked up my K-3 and still favorite walk-around lens the DA 18-135. It was as comfortable as broken in shoe. No goal other than to have fun.
Other than resizing, straight off the card with the jpeg images.

I find the black and white treatment loses some of the depth of the scene compared to the colour treatment. Both are good, but the black and white seems flat compared to the colour.
