Cutting up the K-3

Hi guys, was browsing the net and came across these pictures. Appears to be from a pentax exhibition in Japan. Not sure if these pictures have been posted here before (so if this is old news, my apologies). I think the internal view of how the K-3 looks like is kinda cool.

I find it interesting that the size of the "hump" is mainly due to the flash.

Yes, just think of what they'd be able to do if they rid themselves of it. Don't see much point in it for people who care about their pictures, apart from remote controlling other flashes. That's why the D4 doesn't have one. Not saying pentax has to follow everything nikon does, but there might be a point in this case.

Nooo. Onboard flash is very handy. Sure the D4 doesn't have one but the D800 and D600 do.

Just save space, I suppose. I don't see much point in that for people who care about their pictures.

Unless it reduced weight significantly I doubt if removing flash would be any real benefit since it is not in the way of anything important.

I guess cutting it up would make it a lot easier to clean, can you order them that way?

If you can, then this Zeiss 21mm would be the perfect compliment for one half...

I wonder if there is an "internal whole-body dust removal system" for that? (Shakes the whole cam like a blender!)
