Hi Julian great to have you on the PF, Big Welcome from Sunshine Coast.

Good night and that last beer did taste great
So glad that you did get the Silver K3 in the end.

They contacted me yesterday, to say that they now have the HD DA 15 in, so they have posted it.

I knew you would fall in love with the K3
Now you need some nice silver lenses to go with it
The DA 20-40 limited looks good

Hi JB,
Yep, it was a great night.
You were right about the K3, I'm loving it.
The 20-40 was very nice to use and oh so tempting...

Have fun with the 15.

I'd highly doubt some ladies who are only there because they are paid to be there would be Pentaxians. Plus I think that would be about the last topic of conversation I would ever have with them.
Given a choice, talk about Pentaxes with a bunch of folks on a forum or talk about Pentaxes with hot babes? Is that even a choice. I guess you're saying you'd be too distracted to focus the on the cameras. "So what do you think of the new auto focus on your boobs, oops, I mean the K-3, the new auto focus on the K-3."

Like I said. There is about a thousand other topics of conversation that would come up before I world talk cameras with them.

Unless of course they enquired about being models for some more "intimate" photos. That's a topic I would entertain.... Briefly, before suggesting we go and take some trial shots.

The guy in the grey suit owns DigiDirect and the guy on the right won the K-3. The deals offered were generous with 5 silvers up for sale and bonus lenses and high speed SD cards along with various other discounted stuff. Pity I preordered the silver which I finally received yesterday. I bought a DA 55-300 in a moment of weakness. A few goodies in the show bag too. Free booze and classy canapés, chance to chat with other Pentaxians and Kennedys etc. Found out that Peter Blesina was a photo journo in a previous life. All in all a great night. Oh and the girls weren't hard to look at though I'm sure they're used to a lot of drooling.

Hey Guys,

Took me a month but finally got over here to the fourm's. As a new member to the fourm I thought my name was very appropriate since I was that K3 Winner Having had the camera a month I can't get it out of my hands. Every spare moment I get I make sure I get out there to shoot something & now that Lightroom 5.3 has been released so happy it reconginises the K3 flie!

Look forward to being part of this great Pentaxian Fourm!

Cheers!

Invited but just too far.

Perhaps a good thing....since opening our store 6 weeks ago I have been busy. When I received my invitation I had every intention of going, but as it got closer I got further behind so passed, and being from Qld it meant an airfare, accommodation etc so it wasn't going to be a cheap night....particularly the way some of you bushwackers drink !!!. and that was before CRK would have started on the sales pitch Glad to hear everyone had a great night, would have been good to have caught up with you all. Pwerhaps another time.

PS: eagerly awaiting the arrival of my K3 and will put it through a very tough test with the Sigma 70-200 f2.8.

I'd love to hear about the results of that combo. A buddy of mine travels with that lens and I believe he also uses a 2x converter for long shots. His is for Canon though. I'd be interested in seeing how it performs on a K-3. Sigma 70-200 with a 2x would give me essentially the same range as my 60-250 and A-400. Anytime you can trade two heavy lenses for one, you're coming out ahead. Of course if Pentax actually came out with the 1.4x TC, I wouldn't even be thinking that.
