K-3 In-Depth Review: November 12th

Last week I sent out an e-mail stating that our in-depth review of the K-3 will go live on Monday (i.e. today). Well, due to a few complications it looks like the review won't be done until the end of the day, which means it will go live on our homepage on Tuesday. Stay tuned- this will be our biggest review yet with over 20 pages!

Hmmm, since my K-3 is already in mail(coming to me in few days), maybe this can be good way to get to know it more? Or do you also have some, 'Hey, this you should try when you are shooting...' in that review too?

Here's hoping the 'complications' aren't K3 related

Most reviews are very realistic. The flaws are always in the text, but the marks are very high most of the time. If you read the text the reviews are great

If anything the reviews here err on the side of being overly critical. Likely an effort not to appear to forgiving.

We do our best to keep the reviews fair and unbiased. I would agree with monochrome and say that at times we are very critical of Pentax gear, even as Pentax users, but by reading our reviews you should get a very good idea of the pros and cons of each product and how it fares alongside the competition. Most of our writers (myself included) are familiar with competing products and have hands-on experience with them.

I agree with what folks have posted above. Generally Adam and the review team at PF are very honest in their opinion. Just recently while reviewing K-50, the bottom line was buy the K-30 at the current prices instead of immediately jumping onto K-50 . (From what I recall).

Quoting from the K-50 review done by PF Review team

"While supplies last, the Pentax K-30 is currently a better value than the K-50, given the fact that it's $100 cheaper. At just $499, the Nikon D5100, which we compared to the K-30 last year, has become even more attractive from a value standpoint."
Drooling over 20 pages already!

I am looking forward to the review. So far I am impressed. I bought the K-3 for improved auto focus and I sense the big improvement is there. I look forward to the review to see how more knowledgeable evaluators view the K-3. A must read tomorrow morning.

That is good news, Adam!

For the sake of K3 owners: I hope that there will be more to find out about the settings for "AF-anything".

There has been quite a bit of concern about things missing in the manual ... especially when it relates to AF and video.
