Thank god for that. I hate these long cables. I travel a lot and I find it a pain to roll up these "springy" cables every time I pack. I have made a study of this at all the different places I go to and found I never need a cable longer than 240-300mm (1"). I used to roll up the cable and put a valcro band around it. Then I noticed I never completely unrolled the cable but only ever used about 250-300mm of it with the rest remaining valcroed up. I said to myself what do I need the long cable for if I never unroll it completely. So I have shortened a cable (cutting, soldering and araldite it back together agin) to a length of some 250mm. I took a cable with an American type plug for this as I find in international travel the American plug is the smallest and easiest to use with adapters. (From my Australian point of view.)
Now I just chuck the charger cable in my bag, no need to roll it up. I always look for ways to travel lighter and pack things easier.
