Can you do the update with battery power only or can I use a/c power?

You can update on battery power. Best to make sure it's well-charged beforehand.

Battery power is fine. Just make sure you have the battery well charged. If there isn't enough charge, it won't let you start the process.

When I first tried to apply 1.01, the upgrade halted and told me that camera had insufficient power to complete. So I plugged in the AC power, began again and the upgrade completed fine. The fact that they have added logic to the upgrade that checks for sufficient power before beginning is brilliant.

+1 on the Yay Pentax! for not allowing the firmware upgrade if the battery is too low.

As Bugs Bunny used to say, "It Woiks!"

The next update could include the ability to charge batteries through the camera like you can with cell phones.

So no improvement for video at all ?
No reactivated hardware sensor SR and no higher bitrates ?
I was expecting this but one never gives up some stupid hopes.

I still want to see a more robust and less compressed CoDec used - Compressed CinemaDNG please!, and the HDMI to be activated during recording - with no overlays!

Edit: Deleted comments when realising this was the K3 thread, not the K-01 thread! Such a goof,....
I've left this comment as those are the things I want to see before I order my K3,.... which I'll be getting soon regardless anyways
