I just got my K-3 yesterday. I was really surprised when it complained about the Sony 32GB class 10 40mb/s card that had always worked just fine in my K-x. I tried formatting it exFAT in my computer but no go. So I followed the advice above and ordered a Sandisk Extreme Pro 32 MB card. In the meantime, I'll have to use my old PNY Professional 8GB 20mb/s card, which the K-3 has no issues with at all. Go figure.

Did you try to format it in your K-3? Might just do the trick...

Yep. I tried initially, then after formatting FAT32 in a card reader, then after formatting exFAT. Didn't make any difference. It would initialize the format, show the progress bar, then fail out. Ah well, what are you gonna do? I noticed there's an option to record RAW on one card and JPG on the second card. Is anyone else doing that? Is it useful or just a gimmick?

The faster the better, but for better bang for the buck you will be satisfied with the Sandisk 45MB/s cards, since you probably won't notice the difference unless you want to run true your 200.000 shutterlife in a week.

I received the K-3 and the PNY 64gb Elite SD cards. They are stated as 90mb read, 60 mb write. I formatted them in camera. They do work in this camera, in mine anyway.

My K-3 is set to record DNG in slot 1 and JPG 14MB *** in slot 2, as a smaller image for pre-development assessment and the record. I post-process the DNG and let the camera work its magic on the JPG. The JPG spec is set to "Natural" color with Fine Sharpening set to +1, NR up to 3200 is set to OFF and 3200+ set to LOW. My smart plasma flat-screen TV has an SD slot. So before I begin my DNG work, I snap the JPG card into the TV and review its "out take" images, then select its DNG counter-part for further development.

Works great... M

I like that approach, I think that's what I'll do. Also, after reading other comments in this thread, I've canceled my order for the Sandisk 32GB Extreme Pro. For the same price, I instead ordered both a 64GB and a 16GB PNY Elite Performance card. I'll use the 64 for the DNG and the 16 for the JPG. Thanks for the tips, folks!
