What is this?

Hey everyone,

Sorry if this is a really nubish question but its really annoying me so why not ask. I have just noticed a small dot on every image in exactly the same spot. Its only been like that for about a week as it doesnt go onto my earlier images.
Ps. This is cropped in 16x so it is small but its really annoying that its on every image.
Pps. its right in the middle of the cropped bit.

It looks like a stuck pixel. If you shoot RAW, most raw converters will remove it for you automagically.

I found a action in settings called pixel mapping and it seemed to get rid of the dot some how. What does the pixel mapping do?

I think that's what automagically fixes dead pixels. It lets the camera look for & then ignore the defective pixels. It then uses information from pixels around the dead one to make an intelligent guess for the dead one.

Ah! I didn't know the newer cameras had automatic pixel mapping, I just discovered in the K-5 manual that my K-5 has it too. Cool!
