the K-3 can have an Moire filter, but expensive video camera's for TV can't? I was watching "American Idol" and this girl wore a dress with B & W stripes at different angles. The Moire was so bad that she looked like a Live-action billboard suitable for Times Square.

That's one possibility, but it's also possible that the moire was being generated on the TV screen; not in camera.

Well, when in video mode the K-3 won´t have any anti moiré filter...

Depends on the specific camera used for that recording, then on the transmission of the recording, and finally on the TV set.
But yes, TV shows don't care as much about such details. Higher cost movies would.
It is well known that many materials and patters will create odd artifacts on television.

For the same reason that most digital video also has an incredible amount of purple fringing. It is not a burning issue for other than "art" production.

There was a time when dressers knew what people could wear and what not. And people were advised not to wear certain things. With the current social media culture, nobody cares.

In analogue TV the transmission itself introduces moire, even if the image from the camera doesn't have any. It is due to the way the colours are encoded onto the radio signal and also the interlacing (the interlacing causes moire only if there is motion). In digital TV transmission there should be no such issue though, assuming of course that the signal is digital throughout. Also typically most TV cameras are of the beam splitter type so are not susceptible to colour moire.

It is the job of the Costume Designer and/or the Stylist to make sure their people look good on camera. The Director of Photography should have caught it. The Lighting Director probably said something about it.
