Charger shows 100%. Camera shows less.

New K-3 w/ 1.02 firmware. New Pentax-branded batteries. New grip.
Charger shows both batteries at 100% but the LCD shows things to be, say approx 90%.

Note: switch batteries doesn't change this behavior. Taking the grip off doesn't change this behavior.
I'm not worried at all, but just was wondering if anyone else experienced this?

Doesn't the LCD just have 4 readouts: full, 2/3, 1/3, and empty?

ok, I was being generous.
it is showing max - 1 "notch".
If that is "2/3" then that is what it is showing.

That's weird. Bad/old battery perhaps? If not, then Pentax may not have fully ironed out the K-3's battery metering issues yet.

I would keep shooting with it and see how it does. I remember running into problems with a previous Pentax body, the Kx, with battery capacity displays. It would show depleted and I could still get a good 300 shots off of a set of Lithium AAs in it. THey fixed that in a later firmware update.
