Manual lenses with K3?

Has anyone used a manual lenses with the K3?
If so please let me know the basics for the setting up the camera to accept the manual lens.
I have switched the camera over to manual, but the shutter will not depress and no pictures are taken.

Thank you for you help.

If the aperture ring does not have an 'A' (auto) position you need to go into menu C4, No. 27, and set 'Use aperture ring' to yes. Page 83 in the K-3 manual.

Not sure if it has been updated for the k-3 but outside of the menu setting noted above everything else should be the same.

Thank you for your quick response to my question. I will give it a try today after work.

Using Manual lenses on the K-3 is the same as the others. Make sure you have aperture ring use enabled on the camera, select the focal length, set your ring to the intended aperture, then use the green button for stop down metering.

I got my K3 to put on my Taks. What a pleasure to use now. Results I could not dream of with the older body.

Why would you restrict yourself, Parry?
