Transcend 600X UHS-I SD Cards

I've been using Transcend cards for a while now so when I bought a K-3 I got a pair of their 32GB Ultimate 600X Class 10 UHS-I cards from B&H. After shooting a half dozen frames in high burst mode the write light is already out when I look at it. Obviously it takes longer if you fill the buffer but I haven't reached the point where I have to wait to get another burst in. Just thought you might like to know.

How reliable have the Transcend cards been? I have a Sandisk Extreme Pro that I've been shooting with for a year, quite heavy use and it keeps on chugging. I had a Lexar card fail, not an inexpensive one bought through a reliable retailer. I see the Transcend 600x cards are cheaper than the Sandisk, about half the price.

I have been shooting a mix of the 600/800x Transcend cards for over a year and have had no issues with either my K-30 or K-3 (knock on wood)...I have both 32 and 64 GB ones.

FWIW, I've never had a failure on a Transcend card.

I had a Transcend 8GB Class 10 SDHC card fail in my K-20D.

You can test the performance of your Transcend card two ways:

Large File Write & Read in an ext USB3 card reader:

In-camera buffer speed using a flash and a video editor for reasonably accurate timing:

Both methods:
