4k video handling.....

Hi,

I had the plan to make a short 4k video. I don't have the software for it since Windows Live Movie Maker only goes up to 1920x1080. The K-3 has a setting for 4096x3072 pixels and can make 4,7 fps in this still mode. Should be enough to make some video.

But any free software to stitch them?

oh boy, just running a little test. It takes just a little over 8 seconds for every image. So I better not take 5000 of them to stitch. :O

Any information about the compression options?

You compress it by setting a lower bit rate if you have software with that much control. Ask yourself how much 4K will improve your video for a start. If the answer is little then you can start compressing it by using 1080p.

But then I could also just make a FullHD movie and forget about 4k

8 seconds for what?

4K res is what, 4096 × 2160px

I created a timelapse with MakeAVI from hundreds of photos from the K-01 native res of 4928 x 2776px in just a few minutes.
MakeAVI is lightning fast.

Yes my second attempt went better. I had images at 3star 6,5 MB each, so that probably made it a little hard to toy around. Max resolution of youtube is 4096x3072 pixels. I decided to going to make it 2560x1440 wich is the resolution of my own screen.
