Purchased the K-3

I could not wait anymore. I felt the deal at Adorama for the K-3, Grip, and 50mm lens was to good to pass up. I will sell my K-20 after I master the K-3. The first benefit I see is my K-30 and K-3 use the same battery pack. And of course the K-20 uses another. If I have the same performance from the K-3 as I have had from my K-30 and K-20 these past years I will be happy. My K-20 has been a great work horse for me these past 5 years or so and will have a hard time to part with it.

No they don't The K-3's battery has about twice the capacity.

But you sure can expect the K-3 to deliver fantastic performance.

You are not the first to make that mix-up.

BTW, you are going to like the K-3. It is like someone took your K-30 and gave it a lot more of everything.

Believe me, once you start using the K-3 you may glance at your old K20 once in a while, but you will rarely (if ever) use it again!!!

This is coming from someone who also upgraded from the K20D. Mine was a decent camera, but I actually feel pity for it now

Once I got a K-5, I never touched the K20D again except to pack it up and ship it to my daughter. And with the K-3, I seldom now touch the K-5 (I did over the weekend, just to pull the battery to use as backup for a small picture taking trip with the K-3 -- didn't need it though).

Welcome to the K-3 club!

Agree with you on that one.
Since the arrival of the K-3 my K-30 does not see much use.
Rather use my K-01 as a back-up or when I want to have a smaller camera.
Still debating if I should sell it...

For K20 see my post on repurposing as a digital spottie or k1000.

Understand the need for a smaller cam at times... use a rx100 for those times.

I had the K30 and a friend offered his Silver K3 to me at a great price and then the K30 was left on the shelf. I bought a K5IIs for my son and had no choice but to sell away the K30.
