If they were a week earlier I would have bought it before heading overseas to get the GST back but I'm going to wait and see for a bit longer now.

I recently bought a K-3 and DA 18-135mm WR kit and bonus 8GB FLU-Card from Pentax DSLR | Camera-Warehouse for $1545.00. That price is still available on their site. Good people to deal with.
Serial number 4970729. It came with latest firmware. I have had zero problems with this kit. I also got a D-BG5 battery grip and extra D-LI90 battery.
I have a Pentax AF-360FGZ flash and a Metz Mecablitz 52 AF-1 flash. The AF-360FGZ was problematic on my K10D and the Metz 52 AF-1 was more predictable. The K-3 has exhibited much improved flash performance with both flashes.
I am very happy with my purchase.

Mine is sn486---- purchased autumn, no flash lag with AF540. I'm guessing the 49 numbers are newer!

DCEXPERT (C R Kennedy) has one "body only" on eBay for $1199. That's even cheaper than Camera Warehouse at $1225.

V1.11 does not really fix the problem, just stops the mirror from flapping continuously by resetting the camera. I have had two instances of camera reset since upgrading to v1.11. The mirror flaps about 4 times then the camera resets, missing a frame if you were shooting at the time.

The problem with that idea is that on return the ex-GST price exceeds the permitted AUD900, unless you are travelling with others as a group. And I have heard of checking for high value items on return.

I got my refund a month ago when going OS.....no issues....

I sent an email to CRK with a link to the B&H pricing for the K-3 and included BG-5 (US$896) and got this reply from Clem Kennedy:

"Thanks for the feedback.

The K-3 pricing will be adjusted next week. "
