To be totally clear;

The first image is cropped to about 16MP and the second uncropped, 24MP. There is of course noise when pixel peeping but not, as you can see, a problem as far as I am concerned.

Just to be fair, the autofocus of the semipro Nikon and Canon bodies are likely to be better with most lenses, but the K-3 is the best Pentax has ever made. Even comparing it to my K-5IIs (just one generation behind), the autofocus is night and day.

This is repairable if needed. 200,000 is just an estimate not a life span. Ricoh increased it considerably over the k-5 series which I think was rated at 100,000 or maybe 125,000. But unless you are a very prolific shooter 200,000 is very large.

Shutter life is becoming more important with the new interval feature on the K-3 that can blend images. I believe it is now possible combine up to 2000 images in camera and produce a single image output.

Good point, not something I would ever do but I am sure it would eat up shutter life. 25,000 exposures per year is about average for me though that is continuing to decline.
