Mmmh... interesting...
This is completely at odds with people asking for better (and mechanical, not software) SR for videos...

That's what I'll do. Thx for the suggestion. So for the most part unless I'm shooting fast action sports and high shutter SR will be left on.

Not worth it and a power hog. SR in post is far superior for the types of shots a K-3 prosumer camera can handle.

Out of curiosity, what are the "negatives" for having SR on while using a tripod?

The attempt to compensate for the shake MAY cause blurriness. A "shake" shouldn't be there once mounted on a tripod (unless your tripod is shaky)
