Saving user settings...to sd card?

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a way to save the customized user settings to a SD card? This way, if the camera gets sent in for servicing, when it comes back, you could just pop in the card and restore the settings.

If not sd card, is there a way to save the settings to be reinstalled from an external source?

Thanks

No Pentaxes can do that today. The big Canons and Nikons can do it. It's meant for newspaper and wire service photographers that share equipment. That way all photographers can quickly set up any camera from the gear shelf to their liking.

So, there's no desktop based software either that can read the settings and store them, so at least there is a record of the settings?

that would be a great feature. Being able to save your camera settings, and reload them would be a big help even for general use. You could set your camera up for, weddings, portrait, landscape, wildlife and sports. Then reload your settings depending on what type of photography you're doing. But Just like tethering, we can only ask for a feature, we can't force them to do it.

Most of the settings will be in the EXIF data - there's a huge amount stored there if you get an EXIF reader that pulls everything out, like exiftool.
