Really I am not entirely sure why they chose to add the 5 Year old 654D into this as the only medium format camera. But if I had to guess it would be so that they can give the impression that these cameras beat a professional medium format camera. (also the lack of adding PhaseOne cameras into this which would be even more competitive)
But given digital cameras have only been around for lets say 20 years? 5 years of technology makes the 645D almost vintage in comparison.
Similarly the put in the Leica M Type 240. This camera is nearly 3 years old.
And after doing a lot more reading on the DXO website they really don't seem to have scientific analysis at their heart, it seems to be very much a popculture driven review of things.
I suppose I just need to remind myself that at the end of the day reviews/benchmarks/tests such as this will not change what or how I shoot. I will go to my brick and mortar - SD card in tow, try a couple of the cameras and base my opinion on my experience with the camera. Heck if I was going for a nikon D810 or 645Z or anything in that kinda of $$ range I would hire one and try it for a week or so. $10-15k camera systems are not something I would base my choice on another persons opinion.
