K-3 Dust Removal vs K-x/K-30

Silly question, but is it normal for the dust removal on a K-3 to be completely silent/not noticeable? Asking, as I already picked up my first dust bunny and when I hit the dust removal option it felt like the camera was doing nothing.

With my K-x and K-30, the dust removal was very (very) noticeable. Do I have to throw a setting somewhere or it normal on a K-3 to just not feel anything at all?

Yes. It's like the k-3, where the SR is hypersonic (whatever that means). It's silent but supposedly more effective than the k-x/k-30 clunky dust removal.

In k-3 it works differently than in older Pentax. Can't explain you the main technical difference but it works in silent. But for sure it works pretty well.

If you hold the camera up to your ear when it runs you can usually hear a very faint noise. Unless you spent too much time near diesel engines and then you cannot hear it at all.

Well, it certainly isn't noiseless with my Sears Shop-Vac. The dang crevice tool won't fit through the lens opening so I adapted a 1" pvc tube with reducer fittings to the shop vac. Sure whistles though!

Thanks. Not near the instruction manual so was worried for a moment there. Managed to rocket-blow the thing out so all's well.

Definitely works better than the old system. My k-x quickly acquired stubborn dust in a couple months. My k-3 is going on a year with no visible dust.
