messed up a series of shots last nite.......left interval at 27 seconds but changed the exposure from 25 to 30.....it cycled every other time so a I had a gap of 20 seconds or so...noticed after about 30 shots.....stopped it and adjusted to the proper interval of 32 sec....smooth as butter ha!
ya can see the staggering then the smoothness

But when it's working well, and the exposure time is getting less and less, (as in say a sunrise), and the exposure is less than the interval anyway, then why does it suddenly stop?
That does sound weird. But to find the fault one must be able to repeat the problem, do you have any example of settings that causes the problem?

That is a nice collection! I would have been very pleased with those results.

Editting can always be improved in later sessions. What software did you use for merging the exposures (other than StarStax)?

thanks tomtor , thrilled to be chasing the milky way again!.....serif photoplus x6 for the blending which I am terrible at!! used Microsoft ICE for the crazy looking pano, and dss(deepskystacker) with the zoomed in shots.......a nice variety plus gaining the experience using them......the proper editing will take some time!

Oh, yeah, man! Sorry about that. Thanks for asking! I have a couple-- I took two initial exposures, one with my red headlamp and one with the regular lamp, so I had two color tents to work with. The red is a little more Memorial Day-y, but I'm pretty proud of both. Got clouds halfway through both nights, but managed to get enough for some respectable streaks, I think.

It was our friends going to put food into their car while using a headlamp, haha. I have versions without it, but I thought it balanced out the light a little more. And yeah, I think that's about what it wound up being when I took away the cloudy ones without stars.
