One little tiny paragraph on Pixel Shift Technology (stationary subjects; use a tripod or remote or MLU) and a half page on GPS.

Alas, still a very slim manual, especially compared to previous Pentaxes like the K-5's manual, not to mention other maker's camera manuals.

A few interesting things from the manual:

- a curio: 'A revision history can be checked using the provided software' for images. It mentions this in relation to the copyright notice and owner info [p-99] Doesn't sound very useful just for those data items. Some form of XMP history browsing now in PDCU?

- no changes to AF-C customization options, which is a bit surprising if they have indeed improved AF-C;

- the table on p-87 erroneously suggests that in Continuous Shooting mode, you can't save RAW's [Drive Mode - Continuous Shooting - Save RAW data: X 'Not available']. To be fair, the older K-3 manual also shares the same error. I know for certain the K-3 can save RAW data in continuous shooting mode

- no GLONASS GPS support is confirmed

- the GPS route logging looks like it could be fun, especially as it saves log data into a KML file one might be able to use in software like Garmin's BaseCamp or Google Earth;

- camera auto data and time adjustment via GPS looks useful;

- high definition image output (pixel shift mode) can't be used in Bulb or X mode [p-60]. The Bulb mode limitation seems strange. Pixel shift also doesn't work with the AA-filter simulator feature [p-87], which makes sense since they both rely on SR.

Page 36 describes the saving of an image in raw format from the buffer. Presumably when shooting in jpeg mode you can save an individual image in raw.

This is already a feature for a longer time; not sure which model was the first one to have it (K5 has the functionality).

pg. 97: "Electronic shutter is used for pixel shift resolution"

So does this mean there won't be a 4 shot mechanical shutter burst but instead a quick, silent process after the mirror locks up and mechanical shutter opens?

It's worth mentioning that video is still 60i or 50i at 1920 x 1080, I have seen 60p mentioned in several threads/forums but as with K-3, that is only for 1280 x 720 video. Thus, the video features may be unchanged from K-3.
