What are you opening the raw file with? Unless it supports the format it will open one of the images.

This isn't a mystery. This is intended behaviour. Pixel shifting is designed for stationary photography.

The pixel shift is taking 4 photo's and assembling them. So any movement would offer what you see there.
In RAW mode you will get 4 shots for every photo taken with pixel shift and have to assemble them yourself.

Please see Pentax K-3 II Pixel Shift Resolution Tests - Hands-on Reviews | PentaxForums.com for more info....

The raw consists of 4 raw files. If they don't get combined in post, it's like looking at a conventional image.

I doubt that PS CS5 ACR (or PS CS6 or PS CC) "knows" what to do with the K3 II's 4 image Raw File. My guess is that it would be best for you to use the processing utility that came with the camera.

From CC new features list,

QuoteQuote:
New Camera Support in Camera Raw 9.1

Fujifilm X-T10
Nikon 1 J5
Nikon D810A
Panasonic DMC-G7
Pentax K-S2
Pentax K3 II (*)
*Preliminary support. The multi-shot Pixel Shift Resolution and HDR features are still under investigation.
So, you're stuck using the software included with the K3ii in order to process those properly for now.

PCDU5 works just fine. It is fun watching the pixels fall together as the program merges the 4 raw files.

Tried PCDU5 , and when opened in LAB I get 4 suns & the bird ghosts,so wonder why only 1 sun in the jpeg or unprocessed RAW? I wanted the movement, therefore handheld,to experiment with birds. Is there any way to view each of the 4 files in PCDU5 ?
