In good light, most cameras, even some phones look ok at ISO3200. What separates the good ones, are recovering darkness, prints etc with high ISO
There is more to it than that.. one also loses sharpness/detail in the image the higher the ISO increases. And that is before noise reduction is taken into consideration.

Agreed. For me, that's probably the most limiting thing with high ISO images (currently, at least). I can deal with the noise, through personal tolerance and a bit of noise reduction; but the loss of fine detail can be problematic...

Which leads to the endless refrain, sure this camera is good at 3200 ISO, but, do you really want 3200 ISO images with all the loss of detail, and dynamic range. It works for Kenspo, because in his case, it's high ISO images or no images, that's his choice, but there is a lot of photography it doesn't work for. In most photography, given the same image taken at various ISOs, the lowest ISO number produces the best image, and you do have a choice.

As I've always said, I'm not a technical person but, I really like my k-5II when it comes to image quality. I've pushed the camera to lowlight ISO 1600 scenes and found my images acceptable. I still hope for more improvements.
