K3 user manual

Hi!

When I purchased my K3 camera body, I didn't get user manual in paper form. I like digital manuals, but I prefer proper printed one.
Does anyone know where I can order one?

I can print pdf, but it won't be as compact as the original.

Thnx!

Best regards,

If you bought your K3 new; I'd contact the place you bought it from; otherwise, I don't know how/where you might find a replacement, outside of the PDF.

if I bought a new camera and it didn't come with a printed manual, I'd be curious as to whether or not my camera was actually 'new'......

I have no doubts it was new when I got it. Missing printed manual was a bit awkward so I asked the seller.

K3 body was purchased from DavisMAX via amazon.com in US.
Their reply was:
"I have reviewed your purchase and I am sorry you did not receive a printed manual. Upon further review I see that Pentax does not include a printed manual with this model. I'm sorry we are unable to send an item that is not included as we do not carry it."

So I was left with no printed manual. Am I the only one with this kind of twilight zone story?

A printed manual is most definitely included with the K-3. The merchant is either ignorant or lying. In either case, I would return this purchase via Amazon for being incomplete/missing parts.

Interesting. I had thought I read before that the K-3 didn't come with a manual. Perhaps just the K-3 II? I'll see if I can find the thread where I read it before.

Edit: Perhaps I'm thinking of a discussion about how paltry the user manual was where someone was looking for a manual with more useful information.

To the OP, just curious but what makes you sure it was indeed new and not previously opened? Also, did you check the shutter count?

I received a printed manual with both cameras. Attaching a picture of the K-3 manual in case it can help strsljen prove that his was missing.

Also curious about the shutter count.

Also to the OP, just as a precaution, did you verify that the seller is an authorized dealer? I don't find them on this list but it is quite old and I know there are authorized dealers that aren't on this list.

Odds are Davismax is not an authorized Pentax dealer and you may have purchased a grey market camera.

Hi!

Thanks for the info.

Shutter count was 5 when I got it. After few pics I did, this was the output:

Camera: PENTAX K-3
Manufature Date: 2014:12:08
Shutter Count: 8

I purchased this camera near the end of February this year. Never had time to properly investigate this missing paper manual issue.

Other than that, camera works very good. I have no complaints.

My old K200 has 102k on shutter count. I replaced it with K3 this year and I like it.

Well then, you might find that you are not missing so much. As others have mentioned, the Ricoh manual s a bit sparse.

So I heard.

Today I purchased e-book from mr Yvon (Pentax K-3 e-book). I reckon it will be more useful than original manual.

When the K-3 first came the manuals were not included in some countries due to problems with the distribution. Mine was sent to me by mail after a couple of weeks.

I agree! The manual is included with a new K3 thru an authorized dealer. If it is indeed grey market, I'd be very concerned about the warranty!
