K-3 Service manual?

I have AF button broken (always pressed) so i cant do almost nothing! Sending to service will take monthes, but this time is gold monthes for shooting, can't stop all work. Does anybody have service manual for this camera? Or some instruction to open case to reach back buttons?

even if i will need some parts to replace, i need to release the button, it will allow me to make shoots, even with limited functionality

Do you mean the back button AF or AF of the shutter release button? In both cases you may be able to disable the AF button from the menu. Eventually you may be able to use the camera in a different way.

P.S: the repair manual is likely only provided to accredited repair agents.

In the menu there's an option for button customization. There you can choose back button af. As far as tripping the shutter, I don't see anything to change or customize that.

biz-engineer, amp, the problem is that i cant enter menu! I even switched to manual focus, but even then only few buttons work: shutter button, video swither and front/back dials, all back buttons dont work! you may try to do any operations while holding AF button and imagine the disaster...
Is there any person from authorized service? I swear not to distriobute the manual elsewhere

I can try to open it with no manual, but there must be some hidden locks i dont want to damage.

The following site offers service manuals, but I did not see the K-3 listed in the drop down selection box. Some other K series models are listed, such as the K-5IIS. I am not sure of the validity of the site, but did notice the listed offers.

thanx for link. k5 and k3 bodies are looking similar, and i could try to use it, but i'm not sure it worth 13$, but if there will be no other solution, i willl use it, thax again

You're welcome. I was thinking along somewhat the same lines (K series body similarity). Like I mentioned, the Pentax customer service number is an option if you possibly need more advice.

Everything is the same except viewfinder dioptria dial
I tried to raise button membrana, now its not pressed, but button is working in strange way.
I hope there will be something to replace with in local store

Good luck too.

Another reason to have a backup body. If you are doing serious photo work, you need one.
A used K-5 or K-x as a backup camera could let you continue working.

rawr, actually i have a K-5, but it have a problem with occasional mirror sticking. And even k-2000, but not all customers willl be happy with it image quality ((

Actually, I fixed the button itself a little without desoldering first, and it worked somehow more or less for almost half a year.
