Converted Lightroom K-3 II Profiles

Here are the K-3 II profiles that have made it into lightroom which I have adapted for use with the K-3. This gives you the Bright, Landscape, Portrait, Vibrant, and Natural profiles. In develop if you go to the color calibration area at the bottom of the panel you will find them. You have to install these in your local user folder for them to appear. On windows it is in the appdata/roaming/adobe/camera raw/camera profiles/ directory. I'm sure it is similar on the Mac side. Since the sensor and imaging pipeline are nearly identical I would imagine that these profiles are accurate on the K-3. Close enough at any rate. These should give you the same color shifts that the various jpeg profiles give you. I have tested these and they all open fine. I have not compared with actual jpegs yet to verify their accuracy but they look fairly accurate from a couple of files I played with.

Sounds intriguing, unfortunately being a total ludite I've no idea what to do after downloading zip files. I tried copying the address you gave, but they don't show up on my camera calibration tab.

Thanks.

Thanks. I have installed them ok. I will try them out later.

You have to install them in your local folder ie C/USERS/local folder, whatever your local folder is called.

On Win 7,8 and 10 put the files in the following folder. It will be hidden as default.

C:\Users\??????\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles where ????? is your username on the computer

I copied and pasted this, changed the question marks to "USER", still no joy in either LR5 or CS6.

What version of windows are you using? What is the name of the account you are logged in to? The User account name...

This is how my search path looks like C:\Users\Thomas H\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles

C:\Users\??????\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles I copied this and put it in the address box, changing the ????? to USER.

Do you have a screen shot of the folder C:\USERS?

When you press the Windows key, you get a menu. On top of that menu, does it say: USER? Or does it say your name? And below you have Documents, Pictures etc?

Well, it looks correct... And the raw file you wish to open is taken with a Pentax K-3, not K-3 II?

Fabulous! Downloaded and installed onto LR 4.4, no problems.

This will save a heap of time having a starting point for RAW post processing closer to one of the Pentax JPEG defaults. Can take a long time sometimes just trying to get close to the Pentax JPEG look even before moving onto shadow corrections, local adjustments etc.

Thank you zosxavius. And behind the scenes presumably also Ricoh for working with Adobe to get the the K-3ii and K-1 JPEG defaults into ACR and LR. We're slowly being brought in from the cold!

Yes it's a k3ii. I see! they are for K3 not K3ii. Now I understand! Will I need a newer version of Lightroom to get them?

Thanks again.
