Other SDXC card (file) format than exFAT ?

Is that possible that K-3 recognizes 64GB and 128GB flash memory cards formatted to other than exFAT ?
I'm unhappy user of QNAP network attached storage which does not recognize exFAT (issue known to QNAP NAS users) - while K-3 connected directly to NAS through compatible USB 3.0 cable nor SDXC cards in USB 3.0 card readers (adapters).

I highly doubt that the camera will recognize any other filesystem, since the SD spec mandates the use of exFAT, and high speed cards are optimized around that format.

You could try creating a FAT32 partition smaller than 32gb if you're really desperate to get those cards to work with your NAS, or just use a SDHC card. That might be your best bet. I'd also try the media transfer protocol over USB, in case the NAS can work with that.

Using specialised tools, you can format SDXC card to FAT32, but it will not be readable in the camera. I just re-formatted my Kingston 64 GB card to FAT32 using this tool to see if it works in my car.

Since the USB transfer is fairly slow (even USB-3), it may work just as well to mount to an exFAT compatible device (e.g. a PC) and do the transfer over ethernet.

In my fairly limited experience, you do not want to attach a usb drive to a QNAP, lest the usb drive thereby becomes unreadable on other devices until reformatted, thus nuking everything on it. This problem has been reported for years, during which time QNAP released several firmware updates claiming to fix it. Only they didn't (YMMV).

As someone else pointed out, much safer use a pc and xfer over local network to NAS.

In practice transferring through PC over ethernet takes 3x much time than direct transfer through NAS USB 3.0 socket, which is a lot of a difference with 128 GB of data (let's say 20-40 minutes vs. 1-2 hours), and needs your PC to be switched-on during that transfer time.
I use two cards with my K-3, 32 GB SDHC for *.JPGs (QNAP NAS recognizes card, directories and files) and 128 GB SDXC for RAWs (for QNAP NAS 'card not initialized').
My QNAP NAS also recognizes FAT32 128 GB formatted flash memory (as 'initialized, FAT32 formatted 128 GB, label .....'), but does not see directories nor files on it.

We're getting nearly identical speeds to direct attached USB 3 over gig Ethernet. Even if it was considerably slower, it is still not worth the risk of catastrophic data loss. Some have reported no issues, so if you want to test it out on your QNAP using redundant data, by all means do so.

QNAP NAS exFAT driver is available (paid)

Finally, the good news is coming:

QNAP, Microsoft, and Paragon Software Release exFAT Driver for QNAP NAS
"December 21, 2016 - QNAP has teamed up with Microsoft and Paragon Software to provide an official exFAT driver customized for QNAP NAS, allowing users to directly access the contents of exFAT-based storage. Compared to the conventional FAT32 file system and its 4GB single file limit, the exFAT file system is optimized for fast and high-capacity flash memory such as SD cards and USB devices, and allows for files of up to 16EB. The exFAT file system is becoming increasingly popular for SD cards and other storage devices due to the limitations of FAT32. With the purchase and installation of the exFAT driver, our users can now directly access their exFAT-based storage using their NAS. The exFAT driver is now available for purchase from the QNAP License Store for US$3.99
