To preserve and enhance colors during the "golden hour", or when changing light happens occasionally such as when storms roll in, try using the 'CTE' setting in white balance. I was told about it when Pentax was rolling out the K-30. They had a preview party back when their American HQ was still in Denver. CTE=Color Temperature Enhancement.

Pentax DNG vs Lightroom DNG validation

The DNG validation feature in Lightroom (this checks the DNG files against their checksum, aka DNG hash, to verify that the image data hasn't changed) does not work with the DNG files straight out of camera. I think this is because the checksum is not created in camera.
To use this feature to keep an eye on possible corruption on disk, you use "convert to DNG" on Import, even when you have set your files to DNG format in camera. There doesn't seem to be much impact on the time to import, so not a biggy .
