Pentax K20 vs K3II AC / DC Adapter

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if anyone knows if the Pentax K20 DC power adapter can be used without any problems with the Pentax K3 II.

I have the original Pentax K-AC50 for the K20, for the K3 II is the K-AC132E, but both have the same input and output voltage.

K-20 Rated input: AC100-240V (50-60Hz), Rated output: DC 8.3V / 2A

K-3 II Rated input: AC100-240V (output is not specified).

''I sent an email to a Pentax-Ricoh manager, he has literally answered '' the compatibility of his power supply (K-AC50) is for models before the K-5; Other reflexes need the K-AC132E model''

Does anyone know or know how to solve this problem how to resolve the issue ...

Thanks, Mario

as long as the pinout is the same on the connector, and the output voltage is the same, and the K20 current output it equal to or greater then the K3ii one, you "should" be fine.

Users seem to report that this also works with the K-5 and K-1, so I see no reason why it wouldn't work with the K-3.

Thanks link81 and thanks Adam for the reply,

I found on ebay this, and the seller assured me that it is perfectly compatible.

D/K-AC50/K-AC132 Camera AC adapter(1.5M cable) for Pentax K10D,K20D,K5,K7,K645D | eBay

The output voltage of the K-AC50E of the Pentax K20 (Output: 8.3V, 2A) is the same on Pentax K3 / K3 II, I've read 8.3V, plus the plug is the same, so in theory there should be no problems.

In theory, I think I should not have any problems, but since the warranty is valid for another three years, I would not like for a banality ... do you understand?

Thank you, Mario
