K-3 II arrived late Thursday

Yeah I know I haven't been that active in like forever been hanging out on other spots on the inter-webs. I pinched several pennies and broke down and upgraded to the K-3 II. I didn't place the order via the forum when I ordered it from B&H as I always forget to do it. I am still working on the settings and which ones are the best for the camera so any suggestions on that would be great.

Went through and looked at the lenses and what not I have on hand. Wanting to do some trading for a newer version of the 55-300 and perhaps a 50 with auto focus. At some point want to get a battery grip (as it appears I missed out on the free battery grip offer from B&H) for it and a Pentax OFC-1 16GB Flu Card, if I can locate one.

My current version of the 55-300 is having some back focus issues especially at the 300mm mark. It has been a good lens as I have had it since the Kr as well as the 18-55.

Cameras:
Pentax K3 II
Pentax K5
Pentax K-R

Lenses:
Pentax DA L 18-55mm
Pentax DA L 55-300mm
SMC Pentax 1:1.4/50
Sigma zoom 1:3.5-4.5 f28-84mm Macro
Sigma zoom 75-210mm F3.5-4.5 Macro

SMC Pentax FA 28-80 3.5-5.6
Vivitar 500mm f/8 mirror lens
SMC Pentax-M 1:3.5 150mm
SMC Pentax-DA 1:3.5-6.3 18-250mm ED AL(IF)
Rikenon P 1:2 50mm

Af-360FGZ Flash

The ones in bold are the ones I am thinking about trading.

It has been rather rainy here so I haven't gotten to use the new camera but hoping to get out tomorrow with it.

Jeffery

Congrats! I personally find the FLU card of limited usefulness, although I keep mine in SD card slot 2 pretty much all the time. If you do want to go very wide, I highly recommend the Pentax 12-24mm lens.

I might try to locate someone local that has a FLU card to play around with to see if I want to spend the monies on it. Will add the lens to my list of ones to check on.

Got to get out with it today

Going through the photos from today's outing with the K3II. It is going to be a bit of a learning curve with this camera but going to be nice. Does a lot better with the AF than the K5 and perhaps some one can enlighten me on back focus. My main lens and only one for wildlife and nature parks is the 55-300 and on the K5 it was beginning to have back focus issues. Well today it did just fine so could it turn out to be an issue with the K5 and not the lens itself?

Attached is one from today's outing.
