K-3 and Sigma 120-400

I recently purchased a Sigma 120-400 DG APO OS HSM. I am happy with the lens so far but am wondering about camera and lens settings in certain situations.
What settings are you using for shooting at an air show or auto racing venue? Do you turn off the shake reduction in the camera and use only the OS within the lens? Do you use OS setting 1 or 2?
What seems to work best for shooting wildlife?
Thanks for sharing your experiences.

In lens OS seems to work better than the one in the body (I have read that it is not a good idea to have both on)
1 corrects vertical and horizontal motion. 2 just vertical so that you can do panning.
So I guess it depends on the kind of pictures you are going to take.

I have a Sigma 150-500 DG OS. I have used it with 4 different type Pentax cameras. If you plan on using the OS in the lens, make sure the Pentax in camera Shake Reduction is turned off. If you do use the Pentax in camera SR make sure the lens OS is off. If you have them both on at the same time they may end up having conflicts during focus attempts. Below is a quote from the Sigma site explaining the two OS modes:

"Mode 1 for general photography and Mode 2 for motor sports and other applications requiring panning. In Mode 2, the acceleration sensor teams up with the Intelligent OS and its updated stabilization algorithm to deliver effective stabilization while you move the camera horizontally, vertically, or diagonally—regardless of the position of the lens. This feature helps ensure effective panning and outstanding capture of moving subjects."
