K3 Firmware download disappears

Anyone else having problems downloading the latest firmware update for the K3? Whenever I try to download it from the Pentax site, it shows that its downloading, but as soon as its complete the icon disappears from my download folder.

I downloaded and installed it today.

Safari 11.1.2 on Mac OS X 10.11.6

Is the .zip file being automatically unzipped and deleted? Look for the .bin file...Fwdc220b.bin (It has to be named exactly that, if there are more than 1 it may have a number appended to the file name)

If you have a Windows computer it will ask you if you want to open or save the file. Are you checking the box to save the file?

My first download, on a Mac, failed because it "couldn't find the source file", and gave me a zero-sized file. Tried again, and it succeeded. Something might be a little screwed up at the source. Keep trying?

I downloaded it earlier today. It failed on me three times but Firefox can usually resume downloads that time out.

The browser may save the file with a temporary name or in a temp directory and rename and/or move if or when the download is complete. The temporary files may get deleted on a failed or timed-out download. It depends on your browser, the settings and if you are using any download add-ons. If you have internet security software installed it may also be deleting failed downloads.

i mean it's just an update for a particular lens, right? those who don't have that lens and/or plan on getting it, can just forego, right? asking for a friend.

Yes...not a critical update unless one is buying the D FA* 50/1.4.

My k3 is pretty stable, unlike its owner. Any news on performance improvements?

I can't say about improvement since I only had my camera on 1.11 for a very short time, but even without the new lens (I wish I had it! lol) the camera goes fantastic, not a problem. YMMV, though, so good luck with your download (try using curl or any other cli tool if you are using a *NIX box) and with the update itself!

What version are you having an issue with and what OS is your computer running?

The only things I've noticed so far is that in Live View with a screw drive lens, the focus is insanely fast now.
I've noticed slightly reduced hunting as well when using the viewfinder.

I have only used a newly purchased limited lens since the upgrade but I am feeling the urge to get my 18-135 out. Ooerr missus!!! Lol
