PS: Sorry to be such a killjoy as I know that comment was a joke but I just found out my father died last night and I'm an emotional wreck.

Thanks Rob, the funeral is in Melbourne on Monday so I'll be flying over there. I was hoping to see him a couple of weeks ago but my mum had a fall (I'm her carer) and she's been bed ridden ever since.. strange how things add up.
My condolences and I hope you get over your loss as soon as is both physically and mentally possible.

ARRIVED ARRIVED ARRIVED ARRIVED ARRIVED ARRIVED ARRIVED ARRIVED ARRIVED ARRIVED

No email, but my K3 arrived half an hour ago. Just getting to find all the changes. Flu card included but not sure what it does. The AF on my FA 33 is very snappy and I was surprised by the speed of the rotation of the focus ring. Never really noticed that before. Just feels a lot snappier than the K5 and a bit heavier not that I will notice it when I place a big lens on front. Hope you all get yours for the weekend as well.

I'm in Broome at the moment and hopefully my K3 will be waiting for me when I get back home.
The K3 would have been nice to take to Broome but the K5IIs has been nothing short of brilliant.

Based on some of the stuff I've read about in this forum, the things I've added to my K-3 pre-acceptance checklist (I plan to pickup the camera in-store) are:

- in-built flash takes a picture;
- no obvious front-focus (maybe I'll bring along two sample lenses);
- level correction feature is accurate;
- diopter adjustment knob works.

And from my initial K-5 purchase a couple years ago:
- no scratches or thumb-prints on the focus screen.

So I'll be bringing along a couple of SD cards, two lenses, and a small, bright LED torch .

When I bought my first K-5 it was a couple of hours drive round trip to get an exchange camera, so this time I'll have a good look before I walk out of the store.

I'm curious to see what the manufacture date is on the K-3's in the Australian shipment is. The K-3 that had the flash problems was made 2013:09:21. Maybe there was some issue in the factory during that day.

Breaking news. I just received my Pentax K-3 Silver from CRK. Spanking new camera I like it. The silver part looks like metal. Not plasticky at all. Comes with 2 batteries and a FluCard as promised. Will try the camera tonight.
