Based on some of the stuff I've read about in this forum, the things I've added to my K-3 pre-acceptance checklist (I plan to pickup the camera in-store) are:
- in-built flash takes a picture;
- no obvious front-focus (maybe I'll bring along two sample lenses);
- level correction feature is accurate;
- diopter adjustment knob works.
And from my initial K-5 purchase a couple years ago:
- no scratches or thumb-prints on the focus screen.
So I'll be bringing along a couple of SD cards, two lenses, and a small, bright LED torch
.
When I bought my first K-5 it was a couple of hours drive round trip to get an exchange camera, so this time I'll have a good look before I walk out of the store.
I'm curious to see what the manufacture date is on the K-3's in the Australian shipment is. The K-3 that had the flash problems was made 2013:09:21. Maybe there was some issue in the factory during that day.
