(November 15th) This is pretty well in line with what I was told last week too - middle of the month. I wonder what the delay is.
Thanks for the update. Did they mean delivery to CRK by Friday next week, or delivery to long suffering Australian customers by Friday next week?

I expect the delay is the same old story: a view that the Australian market is not big or important enough to warrant the expense of getting things here in any sort of hurry. Exacerbated by CRK's nonchalance.

Quite frustrating really.

Poit, I believe they mean they will complete delivery into their warehouse in Pt Melbourne by the end of next week. The gent I spoke to was tentatively hopeful that this may even be completed sooner, but they are at the whim of the customs inspectors. the wharfies and the truckies... Not sure we can blame CRK just yet

If they are available next Friday afternoon I predict a queue forming at the CRK headquarters! (maybe we can do a Melbourne Pentaxian meet and greet session??)

The fellow I spoke to was glowing in his reports of the pre-orders for the new camera, he said he had never seen anything like this for a Pentax product. So that's great news for Pentax/Ricoh and CRK

Media like this site and similar others generated much of the buzz and many of those pre-orders, I suspect. CRK should give special discounts to PF users

Hmm, I'll pass your considered opinion on to CRK and show them my PF union card while I'm asking for my discount..... I'll keep you posted on my progress. Don't hold your breath

Well, i'd say its pretty good that they do give a FLUcard already (albeit probably just getting rid of excess stock or something ) and the $10 flat rate shipping is awesome - unless they just wrap it up in newspaper and pray to god with AusPost

I suspect it had something to do with Nikon giving away their WiFi dongle thingie with new D7100s (with some retailers), and new APS-C cameras like Nikon's D5300 and the Canon 70D having WiFi in the body. CRK probably just included a WiFi card to help the K-3 be more competitive in the stores as shoppers worked their way down their 'I need this feature' checklists.

Well, that implies they'll start shipping it out to dealers and individuals on the 18th at the earliest, and that means dealers won't start shipping orders before probably the 20th, so I'll expect mine around the 25th. It's a little disappointing to be so far behind North America, but I suppose any faster shipping would have upped the cost. I can wait. I wonder if the Pentax FLUcard will be out by the time mine arrives.

I'm pretty sure this is the standard Flucard, and not the specialised version designed to give remote control to the K-3 - which is a 16 Gb version. Still its a good deal, and I'll be asking CRK for a flu card with my Camera too.

I don't want / need an 8gb FLU card, I would rather wait for the full featured Pentax 16 gb FLU card pro.
I will probably purchase from DCW and save $50-$60 and buy a Pentax FLU Card sometime down the track.

The dates probably correlate to the new launch event announced on the Facebook page...
