The K-3 I ordered from Camera Pro was the only one they had, and I get the feeling that they must have nagged CRK about it sufficiently for them to secure it. I had, in turn, been nagging the store weekly about the camera since I placed my order in early October. Up until last week, they were also saying the camera wasn't likely to be available until December, then suddenly it appeared.

I'm pretty sure Camera Pro won't have any more K-3's in stock, so I wouldn't suggest them as a potential source.

ARGH!!!

Processed order with camera warehouse over night. Got to check emails before calling CRK to cancel the order and discover mine had been sent today!

Hope I can cancel camera warehouse order in time?!?

Well, following up my post on the less-than-happy experience a friend had at the local Camera House store, with an enquiry about the K-3, he went back and haggled them down to $1,400, including kit 18-55WR lens and a 16GB SD card, as well as the 8GB FLUcard. Not a bad deal for a local sale. Is he a happy camper!

I have noted that the K-3 isn't even on the Camera House website yet (and yet various combination kits of the K30 are still there), even though they're advertising pre-orders for the Df. It shows that CRK have a way to go dealing with the mindset of this major retail chain. Still better for CRK than the old-established Walch Optics who apparently announced that they have no intention of stocking the K-3.

So, then it seems the biggest 'issue' with the K3, is the lack of Vendors stocking it?

I'm thinking I'll move on it after the New Year, so far it's looking like the obvious upgrade path for me.

I don't think it's a case of vendors stocking it. It seems more like CRK just can't get enough of them into the country fast enough. Which is a good thing I guess.

It seems as though most places that sell Pentax are selling out of their stock.
