Er, that girl shot is really sharp. The super fine short hairs on the bridge of her nose is a clue. And the white-heads in her pores. I don't see any artifacts..

....ok too sharp, that girl must hate the camera now.

Hmm...this photo I'm more impressed with.
Now I'm wondering if it's the narrow DOF that threw me off on the other photo...it was closer. This one is further away and has more of her skin in focus

BTW, for the curious...this is what I do w/ my K20D and 60-250 (studio so mostly at f/8) and what I expect for sharpness:

You can see the hairs in her nose. Looks pretty sharp. Probably too sharp for a portrait.

Wow, those shots are insane! Is it the sensor or is it the lens?

They look pretty oversharpened to my eyes. Just a matter of personal taste.

Excellent question, does anyone know?

Certainly more detail than is needed, I think she needs to moisturize and shave.

For this girl shot they used the 70mm Limited at F3.5, which is supposed to be extremely sharp then, esp. near to the center. Possibly even outresolving the 24MP sensor and that would mean a lot. They know why they took this lens here If an anti-aliasing-filter-less sensor is confronted with such sharpness, I expected to see some artefacts in blond hairs, but didn't see any yet. So whatever counter-measures have been employed by the K-3 (sensor movement or electronic post-processing), that worked well.

That is terrible ! There should not be this much noise at ISO100.
I suspect it's oversharpened.

There's also a lot of colour moire in the wave highlights close to shore.

It's not a moire - it's oversharpened CA.

Unlikely. Probably some incompetent trying to lighten the JPEG to make it look better. The DA10-17 fisheye is not the sharpest lens about but at 10mm and f8 it should be better than that.

This is the same lens on a lowly K-7, 10mm f5.6, ISO200 :

I'm pretty sure about that.

I know, I use this lens pretty often.

If you look at the description of the sample image, it say "reversal film" - these are jpg straight out of camera using the camera setting, and in this case, it uses "Reversal Film" to process the image. This 'filter' I believe add noise to it to simulate 'film look'. My guess....

if this was shot at f5.6 perhaps that girl would be crying buckets at the stuff she'd be seeing on her face by now. Like some said, too dang sharp... personally I'd soften it up a bit (but this is a case of representing the camera's capabilities so, the more SOOC the better)

The coloured highlights on the waves are definitely colour moire like I get when I shoot flies wings with my D800E. It's not banded as you'd expect as it affects only the specular highlights.
