Hi All,

I'm really sorry that I couldn't answer all your questions. Since I only had the camera for a few days, and it's now w/ someone else, I can't do any further test.

As to the photos, I bet I'm over the limit from my photobucket account. Will see what I can do w/ them. Really sorry about this.

Thanks Frank, appreciate the work you put in for the review! hope that photobucket resets its limits soon as I'm keen to see the results - I've got the K5 and will be comparing against that for the upgrade, especially at higher ISO's

Pretty much every camera ever made gets crapped on for the advanced manufacturer pics. Look at all the people that complained about Fuji's sample pics for their APS x-series. People declared that the pics were so bad that they would damage the company, but meanwhile, they had something like 150 million in revenue in the release cycle of the X100 alone.
I don't understand this too.
Every camera brand does this (ie. poor samples)
I remember the D800 one (lousy edges and movement blur because of wind)

Unique idea brought by Pentax to choice AA filter or not! Congratulations! But compared with my K5, the number of pixels has doubled in size at the same time! Im waiting for the first tests of this promising camera to see if there is a gain in quality or not with High ISO.

I can shoot my K-5 at ISO8000 and they look that good at that size. We really need full resolution RAW shots to make a definitive judgement.

Both of those images have Reversal Film description in exif, but depending on the exif tool you use, they have different descriptions under sharpness and contrast (if you use PhotoMe) or exactly the same (if you use Jeffrey's Exif viewer). Yet Japanese version has no trace of those artifacts and the one on German site is full of them. Plus the second picture has a CS6 tag left in the metadata, and CMYK added to its name.
And they are gone completely from the original version? Magic. :P
This is clearly CA - I know this lens well, it shows CA on waves pretty often, and I used it on K10D, K-5 and IIs with the same behavior on all three bodies.
Those multi-coloured highlights on the waves are Colour Moire IMO. I'm not aware of any lens with that bad a CA. Most would just do colour fringes around each specular highlight and not blue green and yellow etc.

This is typical for the DA10-17 - trust me, I use this lens pretty often.

Pictures not visible

Why am I not able to see the pictures in Franks post. ? All I see are a number of grey rectangles with print in them. Do I need an add on to my browser in order to see them ?
