I was always satisfied by the service at Photo Gosselin in Quebec city where the staff I met were knowledgeable and did not try to convince me to switch to Canon. Actually I bought my 70-200 2.8 and 10-17 on two separate occasions and in both occasion I saw them sell a k-30.

Another anecdote happened 2 years ago at Lozeau in Montreal. I was going to take a look at a D7000 admitedly to switch systems when the store employee who helped me convinced me that instead I should invest in better glass for my Pentax...

He told me about his big pro canon which was now unusable because water had entered the body. That was after he asked me where I usually take my camera (outdoors, fishing, etc) and he spared no efforts praising Pentax ruggednesss.
Gosselin photo in Laval, preorder my K3 already.

Just buggin over the fact the Ricoh Canada page doesn't even have the K3 listed as a available camera!
Don't worry about it.
Henry's Photo's got that covered.

Oh, so sad. Is Ricoh Imaging Canada still on vacation?

There's quite a bit of Pentax stocked and sold in the local Henry's. One of the sales reps used to be the Pentax rep for Northern Ontario, until Hoya took over and laid off the sales force. I would say I've seen mostly Canon DSLR users around here, followed by Pentax users. MILC's are uncommon, I've seen a few NEX's.

Here Don's Photo and McBain Camera usually have a really good stock of Pentax gear, and I expect them to carry the K3 when it comes out. It's Pentax/Ricoh Canada that I find disappointing. Still no K3 24 hours after being officially announced. No mention of the new 50-300mm lens. Actually just looked and I can't find any of the HD lenses at all that have been mentioned for some time like the 15mm HD and 40mm HD ect. Very disappointing.

Ricoh in Canada is doing a pretty lousy job indeed. I have complained directly to them a couple of times and never got an answer.

Might be relics from the Hoya period. Hoping they either address this soon...

Not Dan S., I hope... he is/was the most knowledgeable sales rep Pentax had in the province!

No, I'm Dan B. from Sudbury. I'm going to call Dan S. soon, to order a K-3.

UPDATE: I just called Henry's. Good news, they told me Dan S. is back with Pentax.

PhotoPrice Canada already have the K-3, you can compare price already
Pentax Digital SLR Cameras - Canadian and Cross-Border Price Comparison - photoprice.ca

I saw on another site that Ricoh Imaging Canada have sent the press release to all media. The English version Web site of Ricoh is not updated and is worse on the French site

Pathetic.

I've been contacted by Lozeau today. They are taking orders for an early November delivery.

The seller here in my hometown promises me the K3 will be available before X-Mas !!

Looks like Henry's will be the lucky winner.

I should have mine in hand mid Novemeber. Can't bloody wait. Returned my Q7 just to make sure I got enough money so other people can get Christmas presents too.
