I still use my K-1000 and once I settle down and can set my darkroom up again I'll start using my Speed Graphic again. So it's safe to say that I'll keep the K10 since I've really enjoyed using it.

I have ordered two K-3's, both with grips, so I will most likely sell/give away my K-5, and possibly my K-5 IIs. I will keep the K-01 and Q7 for fun.

Hey folks,

I am curious to know how will you dispose of your old bodies when you get your K-3?

I know some keep their current ones as backup, others will give them away and finally some will sell.

I intend to give my older body to my niece who has enrolled in a photo course this winter.

You think that such gifts can increase user base eventually?
I won't. I'll be keeping my K-7 as a backup body and to teach my GF how to use a DSLR. I also just got a Nikon D40 (only 3,913 actuations!) this weekend as my Nikon digital body, so old DSLRs still have a place and a lot of use. And I couldn't bring myself to sell my K-7, sappy sentimentalist that I am, because it got me back into photography after a long hiatus.

I guess if she notices & complains I'll have to rework the patio again.

I will give my old camera away for free to someone I know who has an interest in photography but unable to afford a DSLR.

I will keep the K-5 as my 2nd body. The Kx, I will either keep as a back up in case of any problems with the K3, or give it to my house/ pet sitter. I gave him my Pz1 & Pz1p when I converted to digital. Leaning towards keeping it tho. I still love that little Kx.

I tried to behave, but there were too many other options.

I try to use my K7 as my second camera but when needing to flip and and forth in a rush....it adds to the stress since there are differences. I almost ordered 2 K3s but I'm not sure if I want to stop using the K5 yet...

Sold my K-20

My K-20 with around 25000 actuations is off to South Africa. I thought about keeping it as a second body, but I have only very rarely carried two. I used the $200 to buy a mint condition SMC-A 50 f/2.8 Macro.

I could not resist the special Holiday price for the K-3...under $800 with the battery grip. It sold itself the first time I tried it out.

I now have my k20D, my K-5, my K01 and my K-3, all ready to go in my camera case. The good thing is, I can always find a charged battery. I'm just really bad at getting rid of stuff I like.

Now this IS the proper way to dispose of a Camera ! Hats off to you !
We should start a Fund like this for those who are in serious need. Like aspiring students , poor ambitious young photographers. I would certainly contribute.

I guess you mean "ambitious but poor" not "poor ambitious"...

Sony SDHC Class 10 UHS-I 32GB 40Mb/s card and K-3 ??

I disposed my k10D for $160 earlier this week, LNIB 13k exposures
My question regarding K-3 received yesterday from CameraSpot (PA): SONY SDHC Class 10 UHS-I 32GB 40Mb/s card which I used before with k10D, and than with K-5 IIs which I still own, is NOT recognized by K-3 body . The same black label SONY SDXC Clas 10 UHS-I 128GB 40Mb/s card works with K-3 out of the box. So I formatted that Sony 32GB card with PC WinXP as FAT32, I formatted that card with PC SDFormatter - does not matter. Why Sony SDHC Class 10 UHS-I 32GB 40Mb/s card refuses to be read by K-3 body, any idea?

You have to enable the correct slot for a card.....did you do that and have it in the correct slot ?

Fortunately, the solution with 'faulty' Sony SDHC Class 10 UHS-I 32 GB card was to upgrade K-3 firmware from v. 1.0 to v. 1.11
