Does the K-3 have rear fog lights?

But the K-S1 has running lights!
Who knows what the hociR will do next.

Is that a Sigma 600/8 ...?
Why yes it is. My first lens purchase after buying my first SLR (described below). Bought it spankin' new way back in the early 1980's.

And it is mounted on my very first SLR, a hociR s2RX. Bought that spankin' new at Cameras West in beautiful downtown Seattle, in the spring of 1980. I had been leaning towards a Pentax SLR, but was looking for a cost effective alternative. The sales guy showed me this, and tossed in a Pentax M 40~80 zoom at cost.

It was too good to pass up.

And way before the livE hociR was a household word.

And probably why I will not buy a K3.

It got many varied and unusual reactions at PIR in Portland Oregon when I caught Nigel Mansell at speed in turn 1. (scanned from a print)

The security and Portland city cops gave me some very long looks. One of the security guys at the gate at first wasn't going to let me take it in, said guns were prohibited.

Most of the race fans I encountered thought it was 'pretty cool'. I heard lots of 'That's a great idea, who sells it?' When told that I made it some wanted to know how much I would charge for it.

It worked very well, and I had a cable release with the plunger right where a trigger would be.

I need to get it set up for my K5IIs.

Oh boy, a Volvo! I didn't know people buy these in the US. My family used to own a couple until my father switched to Audi, my grandparents still travel Norway in one for months every year - 'The fastest tank.' my grandfather always calls it The current XC70 (US) is one of my favourite cars.
Just about all of the European and English cars have been common in North America for as long as I have been riding in and driving automobiles. Of course they are either North American versions directly marketed as such, or bought in their country of origin and driven there for a short time and them shipped over by their new owners.

I remember the likes of the BMW Isetta, Renault Dauphine, Citroen, Volvo, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Austin (the original Mini Cooper), Audi, Anglia, Volkswagen, MG and MGB, Rover, Jaguar, full size BMW sedans, Mercedes sports cars and full size road cars, Peugot, you name it, if there was a car from there, someone here just had to have one. They were everywhere. The US and Canada were growing rapidly after the end of WWII, the middle class exploding.

Suburban homes couldn't be built fast enough, and they all had a 2 car garage.

This pretty well sums it up for me, and is why I do not need, want, and will not buy a Kay Three.

Because it would mean you'd endorse the wrong company (the dreaded hociR):

All of this backward spelling reminded me of my late mom.
She could say the alphabet faster backwards than I could forwards, just something she practiced as a child.
Also, if she did this in front of a mirror, then the letters came out a to z.

Seduced by the hociR years ago!!!!!

Steve

(...perhaps that explains my failure to resist the K-3. My first SLR (SLT xelgniS) was spawn of the hociR and I have several other demon cameras on my shelf from the same wretched source...)
