Zoe, Norm, to add to your education: this is a sunrise.
Sometimes you get a little cloud which gives nice colour, sometimes you get lots of cloud which inhibits the sun from getting through.

" BTW, I forgot to add "Nice photos" to you earlier post."
Thanks.

Yes but, is it worth the pain of getting up early to see one? Somehow I suspect not.

It is easier in late Autumn (Fall) and Winter. This one was taken at 7:51am.
Summer is a lot different!!!!!!!!!

I've been told it's something that happens every morning, when I'm in bed sleeping. Apparently they are kind of like sunsets that you have to get out of bed to see.
I'm confused. Isn't the sun always just there?

Only till July, way up there in the Northlands. Then you'll get sunrises and sunsets again (link), but you'll have plenty of time to catch up on your sleep so you can try to catch one . Amazing what the Interwebz hold nowadays...

This is what a sunrise looks like down in the US Great Plains region, and it's one more reason why I don't need a K-3

I agree. Why would I get up early if I can enjoy something like this around 4 pm with my afternoon tea (in early February)?

Or this one around 9 pm just after dinner (in late March):

I fail to see the point in these 'sunrises' ...

Exactly, if you get up early for a sunrise, and it's not a good one, you've ruined your day for nothing. If it's a sunset, well, you were up anyway.

Ya, because if you live each day as if it were your last, sooner or later you'll be right.

And then you wouldn't have to regret it forever... Maybe.

I'm thinking you need a K3-II. That way I could plug in the GPS coordinates off you photos and find out where the heck Wangaratta is.

Ah, Wangaratta, its along the road, round a couple of bends and over a hill or two. Depends where you start from.

By road you mean that big thing called the 'Hume Highway'?
