I'm pretty sure those two words don't belong in the same sentence. Slightly further North, the Upper Canada Brewing Co. in Toronto makes a pretty good beer.

I don't want to worry anyone, but I just noticed Jean P has some lenses for sale.
I am most concerned as to his state of mind: he has been an acquirer of photographic stuff to the point of obsession.
And now he has put some on the market.
What can it mean?
Does he need help? (I previously thought he needed help for his obsession!)
Has he gone stark raving bonkers?
Are there dedicated therapists in his part of France?
Is there any hope for him?

---------- Post added 09-12-2015 at 04:39 PM ----------

...just a thought:
Perhaps he is liquidating his collection to raise funds to buy a (dare I say it?) K3?

Rod, you tease?

I would not be able to acquire so much stuff. There is the problem of where to put it, especially in the new house, and the matter of the loot needed.

Nah, he's been known to sell gear before. Actually, I've accused him of being evil, a pusher, forcing me to buy more lenses - forcing as in putting lenses up for sale. Immorality if I ever saw it!

Yes, I have got some of his lenses at home...

Too late for that, I'm afraid...

Response time

"I don't want to worry anyone, but I just noticed Jean P has some lenses for sale."

Correct.

"I am most concerned as to his state of mind: he has been an acquirer of photographic stuff to the point of obsession."

Oh, really ...

"And now he has put some on the market."

Only a "few" ... 1% or 2% maybe of the total ... ... starting to run out of room.

"What can it mean?"

Tokyo is doomed ...

"Does he need help? (I previously thought he needed help for his obsession!)"

Yep, Lawd know I need sum help !

"Has he gone stark raving bonkers?"

Define "bonkers" ...

"Are there dedicated therapists in his part of France?"

Not nearly enough for my case ...

"Is there any hope for him?"

Fill in the blank : _______________________________________________

Don't you worry folks, I'm a psych major (read "vastly unqualified undergrad who thinks he's already a great therapist in all but name" ), I've got this!

So, Jean ... how do you feel about this lens thing?

Nope, there's no hope for Jean, I'm afraid.

Q: How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Only one, but the bulb has got to really want to change.

...and, after all, what's the difference between Jean and a light bulb?
