Then what do they put on nachos? (we are talking haute cuisine, after all)

I use Tillamook sharp cheddar. Shredded fresh, spread liberally over a layer of my favorite triangular corn chips, with just the right amount of black olives, diced onions, and maybe some freshly prepared ground beef.

Of course the whole mess is then garnished with chopped fresh cilantro.

This, with an ice cold Negra Modelo is the perfect 'Mexican' snack!

I think Mark just beat himself in the rugby world cup. He probably needs at least a couple of drinks to sort that one out...

Ah, yes. The "I don't drink anymore. I use a funnel now" concept.

In my younger days we 'shotgunned' our beer. Take a church key [can opener], lay the beer can top end slightly lower than the bottom, and open on the side at the bottom. Then, place mouth over the opening, suck the air out, tip head back and the can upright.

Pop the top while maintaining suction.

Bam!

An entire 12 ounce can of beer is 'shotgunned' down the throat and into the stomach.

Instantly.

In about one second.

One gulp.

Boom.

Repeat as often as desired.

Maybe someone should try that with Velveeta.

...as a particularly cruel method of execution?

Evil.

Pure evil.

Double-distilled evil.

Not even the hociR can match that.

I don't know how to break this to you Todd, but that sort of thing will happen more and more as the years go by.
Reminds me of the day, nearly 10 years ago now, when I woke up one day and suddenly I could not see anything properly any more. Quite sad given my glasses at the time were only about a year to two old, having been replaced by the supplier because the coatings on the earlier version had failed unreasonably early.

Oh well, after I was sure the eyes settled I went out and got some of the optically fancy geriatric ones. They lasted well, and worked well. A few months back I went and got some new ones, while my health insurance was still valid before I moved. Now I have new health insurance but not sure about glasses.

That'd work, too. But the masses will judge you a wine snob if you do that, and I give in to pressure all too easily. And I can't hide behind being French...

Thus beers for me tonight
Wine snob? Have you not heard of vin de pays? Looks a bit like raspberry cordial and tastes like it was mixed with a little too much water. Not like the full flavoured new world wines such as come from the estate where I used to live (planted 1843, two thirds sold for a housing estate in 1985).

I saw a movie like that once. (Once with that movie was enough.)

I found a beer just recently called 'Boondoggle'. Tastes with strong hints of vegemite. It was a pretty good one.

But this post makes five times you have participated.

You dislike GM vehicles.

You would only buy a Mustang if it has a Ford badge on it.

The Lincoln vehicle disturbs you because the Lincoln Mercury badge resembles a coffin and a cross [this is the first time I have ever heard it characterized as such but indeed, it does].

You would like to see this discussion ended and another started about the K1.

And you are OK with the mark of hociR on the back.

If I neglected to do so previously, welcome to the clubhouse!
