Australian slang meaning antisocial and unacceptable road behavior. I believe that qualifies.

I little after Christmas 1981 I went for a ride from Waterfall to Stanwell Tops with a lady whose name was Hoon. The name was descriptive. Reminds me of the teenage line "that's the name but not the game".

I don't know why I have not noted this before ... "Riconar" does not sound good in French

"Ri - conar" or correctly spelled in French, "Riz connard" ... meaning rice a-hole/jerk/idiot, etc ...

I now understand why they may have changed to Rikenon ... or was that vice-versa ... or verse-vica ...

Riconar was the lower price Ricoh lens line with Rikenon being the good stuff.

Perhaps that is why some folk pronounce it Ree-coh?

Just got a new SatNav (GPS in Australia) the English have funny words. Replaced complete under warranty because the SD card slot was non-functional, or is the US.

And it is Guy Fawkes night tonight. Eerie lights over the Thames on the country lanes. Drove the road from a place called Lechlade, which seems to have a reputation for having people like some referred to earlier here, to Bampton.

At Lechlade I went to a pub where I told the barmaid, I am from fa away, I would like a local pint. One of the men said "where are you from, Cheltenham?"

Had a BBQ with the Rucksack club, then we went to the park to watch the fireworks - everything was shot from one single location, and because there was little wind after a couple of minutes such a big cloud of smoke had formed that the explosions all but disappeared. We essentially watched a smoky cloud for half an hour that was illuminated from within and all we saw were colourful flashes
